You can’t stop “Gangnam Style.” You can’t even hope to contain it. You can only watch — mouth agape, senses assailed — and marvel.

K-pop star Psy’s viral behemoth has just passed — or is hours away from passing, depending which YouTube stats you go by — Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” for 2012 online music video supremacy.

At the time of writing, a YouTube search for “Gangnam Style” said the video had exactly 268,872,984 views. A YouTube search for “Call Me Maybe” said it had 268,386,449 views.
